Libyan Delegation Explores Guarantee Mechanisms to Support Small and Medium Enterprises at Bpifrance in Paris
On September 23-24, 2024, Expertise France organized a study tour to Bpifrance’s headquarters in Paris as part of the Enable project, funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France.
The Libyan delegation included representatives from the Central Bank of Libya, several commercial banks, the Credit Guarantee Fund, and the National Program for Small and Medium Enterprises.
Throughout the tour, participants were introduced to loan guarantee mechanisms and explored strategic banking partnerships. Additionally, they gained a deep understanding of Bpifrance ‘s international experience in assisting other countries in developing similar financial mechanisms.
This trip represents a crucial step towards activating the Libyan Credit Guarantee Fund, which is vital in stimulating economic growth for small and medium-sized enterprises, supporting the development of the private sector, and mitigating credit risks financial institutions face.
Expertise France is actively working to improve access to finance and support the development of the private sector in Libya, as part of the E-NABLE project funded by the European Union.
