Strengthening the Capacity of the Libyan Credit Information Center
Within the framework of the E-Nable project, funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France, a three-day workshop was organized in Cairo, Egypt, from the 31st of January until the 2nd of February 2023, with the Libyan Credit Information Center LCIC and the Egyptian Credit Bureau I-score. This workshop aims to kick-start the project’s diagnostic phase and comprehensively assess the current credit-reporting environment in Libya.
Expertise France in partnership with I-score is supporting the Libyan Credit Information Center and key stakeholders to improve the credit reporting system in Libya by supporting enhancements to the regulatory framework for credit bureaus, strengthening the capacity of LCIC to deliver high-quality data and providing value-added services, and increasing stakeholders awareness on the role and importance of credit information sharing; with the overall objective being to increase access to finance for MSMEs in Libya.
Among the workshop participants were the Head of LCIC and his team, the Chairman and Managing Director at I-score, the COO at I-score, the Deputy Director of Programs at Expertise France Libya and the Head of Promotion of Access to Financial Services for SMEs in Libya at Expertise France.
