Building a Greener Libya: Workshop Explores Green Investment for Economic Diversification
A workshop on green investment and economic diversification in Libya took place in Tunis from June 24-25, 2024. This initiative aims to raise awareness of green investment’s role in achieving sustainable development goals and enabling a diversified Libyan economy through renewable energy, green infrastructure, clean technology, waste management, and sustainable transport.
The workshop explores financing options for green investments from financial institutions offering credit, guarantees, and financial solutions. It also discusses mechanisms to encourage green investments and identify opportunities for a strong green investment framework in Libya.
This effort falls under the E-nable project, funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France, which supports the diversification and digitization of the Libyan economy.
