Libyan Credit Information Center Advances Credit Reporting System with Workshop on Regulatory Framework

Within the framework of the E-Nable project, a program funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France, a three-day workshop was conducted with the Libyan Credit Information Center (LCIC) to design and validate the regulatory framework for credit bureaus in Libya.
Expertise France is supporting the Libyan Credit Information Center and key stakeholders to improve the credit reporting system in Libya by supporting enhancements to the regulatory framework for credit bureaus, strengthening the capacity of LCIC to deliver high-quality data and provide value-added services, and increasing stakeholders awareness on the role and importance of credit information sharing; with the overall object being to increasing access to finance for MSMEs in Libya.
Among the participants in the workshops were Dr. Nabeil Abujnah, Head of LCIC, the LCIC team, Mr. Jean Francois Bouchard, Central Bank Expert, Ms. Felicia Iancu, Legal Adviser, Mr. Julien Schmitt, Country Representatives and Programs Director at Expertise France in Libya and his deputy Mr. Mohamed Alaswad, and Ms. Lisjana Hila, Head of Promotion of Access to Financial Services for SMEs in Libya at Expertise France.
