Public-private partnerships New Training: Important Step Towards Developing the Libyan Economy

In an effort to promote public-private partnerships and in cooperation with the Libyan Ministry of Economy and Commerce, a training program was held in Tunisia from January 10-12, 2024. The program aimed to enable participants to understand the frameworks, principles, and types of public-private partnerships and their management methods and to enhance the participants’ capabilities in developing and implementing public-private partnership projects.

This training program comes within the E-nable project funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France in cooperation with Libyan partners.

Among the attendees were Mr. Saad Hanish, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Trade for Economic Affairs, Mr. Julien Schmitt, Country Representative and Programs Director at Expertise France in Libya, and participants from the following institutions: Ministry of Economy and Trade, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ministry of Transportation, Businessmen Council, Tripoli Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Renewable Energy Authority, and the Syndicate of Contract Editors.

The public-private partnership project aims to strengthen the collaboration between the two sectors to contribute to the diversification of the Libyan economy by implementing projects of common interest, improving the management and competitive efficiency of the economy, reducing the burden on the public sector, and providing new job opportunities.
