E-NABLE Project Steering Committee Holds its Annual Meeting

On May 28, 2024, the E-NABLE Project Steering Committee held its annual meeting at the Corinthia Hotel in Tripoli. Expertise France presented the project’s progress and achievements and discussed upcoming activities to reach the project’s goals and collaborate for sustainable development in Libya.

 

The meeting was chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Economy and Trade, Mr. Mohammed Al-Hawaij, His Excellency the Ambassador of the European Union Delegation to Libya, Mr. Nicola Orlando, and the representative of Expertise France in Libya and Tunisia, Mr. Stephane Orivel, and in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industries, Mr. Nasr Al-Din Al-Fazzani, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Saleh. Al-Ghoul, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Trade for Economic Affairs, Mr. Saad Hanish, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Trade for Free Zone Affairs, Mr. Nouri Al-Qatati, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Mohamad Suwaid, the Deputy Director General of the Tax Authority, Mr. Omar Al-Zarrouk, and the Assistant Director General of the National Economic and Social Development Council, Mr. Naguib Al-Jaribi and a number of representatives from the Central Bank of Libya, the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the General Authority for Information, the Ministry of Finance, the European Union delegation to Libya, Expertise France, and a number of relevant economic institutions.

Mr. Al-Hawaij emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration with the EU and Expertise France. He called for a clear action plan with deadlines to achieve an integrated economic vision, tangible results, and economic diversification in Libya.

The E-NABLE project is funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France. It works with the Ministry of Economy and Trade and other economic institutions to promote a sustainable, diversified, and digital economic recovery in Libya.
